Daphne Guinness’ Mnemosyne

Daphne Guinness launched her first scent, Daphne, with Comme des Garcons last year. She also produced this film, Mnemosyne. It is a stand-alone art piece – “inspired by the essence of scent”.

The film is mesmerizing and scent is heavenly (to my nose). Daphne would be in my perfume arsenal if my pocketbook would cooperate.

Perfumer Antoine Lie created Daphne using notes of bitter orange, incense, saffron, rose centifolia, Tunisian jasmine, tuberose, iris, patchouli, oud, amber, and vanilla. Essentially, Daphne is an oriental scent featuring tuberose with all the baroque fixings. (Description courtesy of Now Smell This.)
